Behind the wheel of your Chevrolet Tracker or Dahiatsu Feroza you will discover the wonderful countryside of the Dominican Republic and its winding tracks weaving between hills and water courses.

 

These 4 wheel drive vehicles will you allow you to penetrate the heart of an authentic region.  A day when you will meet a welcoming population who will seduce you with kindness and hospitality.


   THE DAY'S outline

Full day  08h30/17h00

 

- Capacity

Up to 80 persons per day (20 vehicles)

 

- Security

2 safety cars for 80 persons : one in front with a guide and a mechanic, one behind with a second guide and mechanic.  Liaison by radio.

 

Overtaking forbidden, strict supervision

 

- TeamBuilding

Different challenges :  sugar cane cutting, blind driving, coco boules, unusual photos, donkey back polo, etc….

 

- Recommended clothing

Shorts/T-shirt/comfortable shoes/sunhat/sun tan lotion

The vehicles are lined up in the car park ready for departure.  The vehicles may be personalised if desired.

 

Security briefing and departure in convoy towards the country’s largest sugar cane plantation.

 

First stop and domonstration of the sugar cane’s cutting and weighing.  The track continues to « Maria’s house ».

 

Second stop during which the group will visit a small family-run farm, allowing the sampling of a number of different fruit (mangos, papayes, pineapples, oranges) as well as the locally produced cocoa !

 

The track hardens, the vegetation thickens and its the first mountain drive : a winding path crossing cocoa , orange, banana and coffee  plantations.

 

Third stop arriving in the village named « Anamuyita ».  Visiting the school , a colmado (small village grocer) and the coffee and cocoa cooperatives.

 

We will then leave to our left the magnificent coconut tree covered hill tops and mountainous scenery in order to visit the ranch « Otra Banda » where a typical Dominican style BBQ lunch will be served .

 

Horseback riding for those interested.

 

After lunch return to the hotel via the Benerito track.
