The Monster Trucks are impressive 8 wheel drive vehicles with permanent driver to travel on all types of terrain.  Their height provides everyone an exceptional panoramic view of the dominican countryside.  They offer uncomparable comfort and security, equipped with forward-facing upholstered seats and covered top in case of rain .

Departure from the hotel by coach to the Monster Truck base situated at Higuey (30 mins).

All aboard the Monsters and the safari begins.  A professional guide in each vehicle will offer you the secrets of daily life, the traditions and the culture of the dominican country folk.

At the first stop you will discover the lifestyle of a dominican farming family and you will be able to savour the delicious local coffee.

A second stop will initiate you to one of the preferred dominican pastimes : cockfighting, a demonstration fight (the spurs will be covered to avoid injuries).  The ride continues along the winding paths and river crossing.

A third stop will allow you to visit a small tropical fruit exploitation which will be followed by some sampling.

Having left the Halto Mayor mountains to our right we will make a fourth stop in a small typical village where we will visit the school, the church and the small street stalls.

We will then take the small path which winds its way to the Rio Chavon where we will stop for lunch on the riverbank : you will then savour the tastes of dominican cooking…..  Possibility of bathing in the clear water of the Chavon.  After lunch continuing across the fields of sugar cane where you will be able to try cutting it with a machette !

Our sixth stop brings us to the house of a voodoo sorcerer !  The local inhabitants come for his natural medicines and his prayers.

Return to Higuey to take the coaches back to the hotel.
